Darius Campbell Danesh was born on August 19, 1980, in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
He was the eldest of three sons of a Scottish mother, Avril Campbell, a GP, and an Iranian father, Booth Danesh, a gastroenterologist.
He grew up in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland.
Campbell attended Bearsden Primary School and the Glasgow Academy for his early education.
He later went on to study English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh.
